POSITION SUMMARYTo grow an organization that promotes and sustains a culture of exceptional outcomes for all students, the Community College of Aurora (CCA) Foundation seeks an experienced individual for the position of Development Manager. The Development Manager is responsible for leading the Foundation's fundraising efforts through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate, foundation, and individual donors; managing a portfolio of donors and prospects;
securing sponsor ships for key fundraising events and campaigns; overseeing the President's 1983 Society; and identifying new philanthropic partnerships that advance the Foundation's mission. This position also leads the Development Committee, develops fundraising strategies in partnership with the Executive Director, analyzes fundraising performance and donor trends, and serves as a community ambassador to increase philanthropic support and awareness of the Foundation.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will share responsibility for advancing the vision and strategic direction of the CCA Foundation (CCAF) and ensuring the organization's fiscal health by driving philanthropic revenue, building meaningful donor relationships, expanding the Foundation's network of supporters, and achieving annual fundraising goals through strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for strengthening and evolving existing funder relationships as well as prospecting and building new long-term partnerships that result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals and priorities of the CCA Foundation.
- In partnership with the Executive Director, identify, qualify, and build a pipeline of new individual donor prospects through research, networking, referrals, and community engagement.
- Manage and build a portfolio of approximately 50–75 individual donors and prospects, developing and executing personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Establish and achieve annual portfolio goals related to donor visits, solicitations, dollars raised, donor retention, and new donor acquisition.
- Support the Executive Director in achieving corporate partnership goals with sponsor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for Foundation fundraising events. Drive College Beyond Wall Luncheon and Colorado Gives Day donor retention and growth goals.
- Manage the President's 1983 Society, our $1,000 level donors, by developing strategies that deepen donor relationships, increase retention, and encourage continued philanthropic investment.
- Staff and support the Foundation's Development Committee by coordinating meeting logistics, preparing materials, tracking action items, and helping engage committee members in fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager on fundraising communications, giving pages, campaign messaging, and donor-facing materials to support successful fundraising initiatives and stewardship by understanding giving motives from donors.
- Prepare fundraising reports, dashboards, and development materials for leadership, the Board of Directors, grant reporting, and strategic planning.
- Maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, and fundraising activity within the Foundation's CRM to ensure effective portfolio management and reporting, including supporting the Executive Director with portfolio detail input.
- Represent the Foundation in the community through networking events, campus activities, and professional organizations to expand awareness and cultivate corporate and community partnerships.
- Participate in regular donor stewardship activities, including directly stewarding donors and prospects with strategic communications and school site visits
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
