Ameri Corps NCCC is a team-based national service program dedicated to strengthening communities and developing young leaders through hands‑on service. Team Leaders, age 18+, commit to an 10- to 11-month term during which they travel across the United States to serve areas in need. The Ameri Corps NCCC program includes unique opportunities to contribute to disaster relief, build affordable housing, increase food security, and meet a variety of other critical community needs.

FEMA Corps, a partnership between Ameri Corps NCCC and FEMA, is a full‑time, 10‑month, team‑based service program for young adults. Participants gain experience in leadership and emergency management while serving and supporting communities affected by disasters. FEMA Corps members primarily support FEMA through administrative and operational tasks that strengthen coordination, planning, and mission deliver.
Team Leader DutiesYou will lead a team through administrative service in the areas of disaster response and recovery activities. Your team could be conducting data entry, mapping disaster evacuation routes, or helping sign up survivors for assistance, so adaptability is key! As a Team Leader, you will be crucial to your team’s success. You’ll be responsible for directing, motivating, and mentoring a diverse team of young people.
FEMA and NCCC staff will look to you for coordination of project logistics. Gain invaluable supervisory experience, challenge yourself, gain skills in emergency management.
