Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality support to physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) in the OBGYN and Family Planning clinic, ensuring efficient patient care and adherence to professional standards.
Key Responsibilities- Escort patients to and from exam rooms and prepare them for physicians.
- Perform telephone triage, patient education, and handle physician and pharmacy calls.
- Take vital signs, record medical history and symptoms, and verify complete chart and lab results.
- Administer immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns, serving as liaison between physician and patient.
- Report test results to patients as directed by physicians.
- Perform pre‑procedure circulating functions – prepare the procedural environment, orient and assess the patient, review the patient’s medical record and surgeon’s notes to verify prerequisites.
- Perform scrub functions when needed, including preparation, selection, and handling of instruments and supplies, and conduct equipment counts.
Onsite at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus – Lowry, Colorado. The role requires the ability to work in person and travel to alternate locations as assigned.

- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program accredited by ACEN or ANCC.
- Two years of nursing experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
- OBGYN nursing experience.
- Two or more years of RN experience in a procedural/OR theater setting.
- Two or more years of clinic experience related to the job.
- Bilingual, Spanish speaking.
- Moderate sedation experience.
- ANCC specialty certification.
- Experience with Kronos or EPIC systems.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Maintain all required licensures and certifications.
- Maintain continuing education requirements.
- Comply with mandatory University of Colorado School of Medicine training.
- Must be able to work in‑person.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Effective communication at all levels, including physicians, leadership, and staff.
- Knowledge of CPT & ICD‑10 procedure coding.
- Ability to work within large, complex healthcare systems.
- Data analysis, report compilation, and presentation development.
- Letter and memorandum composition.
- Calm, courteous demeanor with patients and staff.
- Stress management and timely task completion.
- Follow oral and written instructions and established procedures.
- Independent work management and time management.
