Job Summary:
The Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (HTC) is a federally funded program that exists to identify, treat, and give access to care for persons with bleeding and clotting disorders in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The HTC provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services, education and consultative services for community physicians, and educational and other support programs for patients and their families. The work is organized into four sections: research, clinical care, advocacy and community service, and pharmacy services.
This position functions within the Clinical unit of the HTC, providing clinical care for patients.
The RN Coordinator provides direct patient care for persons with coagulation disorders under the auspices of physician management with responsibilities that include but are not limited to assessment and
treatment of patients with acute bleeding or clotting problems under direction of medical providers, both outpatient and inpatient as well as nursing evaluation of patients in annual comprehensive clinics and during follow-up clinics. In conjunction with multi-disciplinary team, the RN functions as the primary care nurse for an assigned number of patients, implements treatment plans, provides education to patients and community agencies;
participates in outreach clinics and programs; contributes to clinical research studies, and is committed to ongoing learning and education in this area of specialty and the field of nursing and medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
* This position will make complex daily clinical decisions. This RN will use physical assessment, laboratory assessment, determine payment sources for treatment and make follow-up plans for patients managed by our physicians with consultation with the physician, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners.
* Provides research support to CRA, including blood draws, medical history, and physical exams.
* Full participation in and attendance at outreach clinics, educational programs and camp that may involve out-of-town travel, overnight and weekend time.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite at the CU Medicine Building, HTC, in Aurora CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
* Colorado RN licensure or ability to obtain Colorado RN licensure.
* Five (5) years of experience as a registered nurse.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ten (10) or more years of experience as a registered nurse.
* Pediatric advanced life support and/or ACLS certification.
