Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills, and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs.

Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementation of established standing orders and protocols, and performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure.

Schedule & Location

Shift Details:
Full time (40 budgeted hours). The caregiver will be scheduled for either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week.

Miles City, Montana - This position supports both the Holy Rosary OB/GYN Clinics and the Holy Rosary General Surgery Clinic.

Preferred Qualifications
  • RN experience preferred.
  • IBCLC certification preferred and/or wound care certification preferred.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with provider results, support lactation consultations, and provide wound care services.
Scope of Responsibilities
  • Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
  • Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.
  • Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions; administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response; refers to or consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent or resolve problems or concerns.
  • Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms and automated systems and documentation practices.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Tracks quality assurance data and monitors for acute and chronic care management.
  • Qualification & Experience

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
    • One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.
    • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; requirements must represent knowledge, skills, education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required, and reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
    • Regular attendance on site during scheduled business hours or shifts is required.
    • Knowledge of nursing processes; health-care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources; understanding of health-care technology, equipment, and supplies; familiarity with state law on nursing care, nursing practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.
    • Effective communication with staff and patients.
    • Sound judgment and composure to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
    • Positive, caring attitude toward patients.
    • Strong work ethic and high level of professionalism.
    • Critical thinking skills within scope of practice for population health management and improvement of patient outcomes.
    • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
    • Frequent interactions with patient-care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies.
