Job Description
Plant center operations are carried out by a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) who reports to the Plasma Center Manager.

About the RoleAs a Medical Support Specialist, you will support plasma center operations, determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, notify donors of unsuitable results, and provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs, including coordinating with the Center Physician and transporting donors to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues and unacceptable findings to donors.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationHourly Wage Range: $38.72 – $53.24 (actual wage may vary based on qualifications and location).
