The Division of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has an opening for a 0.2 part‑time faculty at the rank of Adjoint Assistant Professor for a Certified Nurse‑Midwife (CNM) to provide inpatient clinical care in obstetrics and gynecology as a member of the University Women Care (UWC) practice. Inpatient duties include working on labor and delivery one night a week managing obstetric and postpartum patients.
This position involves the education of residents, advanced practice providers, and or medical students. There is a potential for outpatient work although emphasis will initially be on inpatient practice.
Successful candidates must demonstrate competency in obtaining patient histories, performing physical examinations, and developing appropriate plans of care in the OB‑GYN clinical setting. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, with primary care providers, specialists, and team members to meet the comprehensive needs of patients.
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to low and high‑risk patients as part of a collaborative team.
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees as able.
- Participate in research, as desired.
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in the greater Aurora area, Colorado.
Qualifications- DNP/PhD or equivalent experience.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or midwifery.
- Active AMCB certification.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado.
- Prescriptive authority required.
- Must have Colorado licensures registered with DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) by date of hire.
- Seven (7) or more years clinical experience in practice as a CNM in Obstetrical/Gynecological care.
- Demonstrates meritorious or excellent achievements in several of the following areas: teaching, clinical activity, research, service, and scholarship.
- Experience as a clinical educator.
- Utilize limited obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound skills.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.
Assistant Professor: $136,947–$139,300 for a 1.0 FTE (will be prorated to posted FTE). This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non‑exempt.
