The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical care in the Emergency Department, working under delegated oversight from a licensed physician. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment, and monitoring of low‑acuity and ESI 3‑4 patients, participation in performance improvement, and collaboration with attending faculty on complex cases.

• Collect, review, and correlate patient data to assist physician medical management.
• Assist physician by triaging and monitoring patients, referring for appropriate care as indicated.
• Assist in scheduling patients for clinical appointments and procedures; participate in patient education.
• Perform or assist physician with direct patient care services as needed; administer medicine and therapeutic agents as directed.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety activities, and maintain compliance with JCAHO accreditation and internal/external regulatory standards.
• Work onsite in Denver, CO metropolitan area.

• Active and current license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Colorado.
• Certificate of completion from an accredited NP or PA program (CAAHEP or ARC‑PA).
• Certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, or equivalent.
• Current and active certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• A student or graduate degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s) as required by the licensure.

• One year of post‑graduation emergency or urgent‑care clinical experience (preferred: two years or more).
• Ability to work part‑time nocturnist shifts, with differential pay.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Completion of a post‑graduate Advanced Practice Provider fellowship/residency in acute care emergency medicine (highly recommended).
• Current certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
