License: Active Registered Nurse License
Certifications: AHA BLS, Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) certification preferred; chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
Must-Have:
- Candidates must be comfortable floating between units as needed. Candidates must have experience with flexible staffing ratios and care for patients receiving chemotherapy and cellular therapies such as stem cell transplants and CAR-T.
Description:
The role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with blood cancers.
This includes administering chemotherapy and managing clinical conditions related to treatment.
Nurses will work in a unit caring for individuals undergoing various therapies, including biotherapies and cellular therapies.
Candidates must be willing to work rotating schedules with weekend coverage as needed.
Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary based on staffing and unit needs.
Experience should include handling situations involving tumor lysis syndrome, blood product administration, and Graft-versus-host disease.
Candidates will monitor for adverse reactions and manage complications related to treatment.
The capacity to communicate effectively and recognize abnormal lab values is essential.
Candidates will also provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process.
Teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff are crucial components of this role.
