Description:
Position available for a Registered Nurse in a Neuro ICU setting.
Shifts will rotate between days and nights on various days of the week.
Weekends are required as per unit needs.
The nurse will not be on-call.
The patient ratio is 1:2.Charting will be performed using an electronic medical record system.
Experience in high acuity and fast-paced surgical ICUs is necessary.
The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and a level I trauma center.
The nurse may float to similar facilities as required.
Competency includes management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and central line care.
The nurse should be adept at monitoring and managing ventilated patients.
Infection prevention and phlebotomy skills are necessary.
Experience with critical care conditions such as stroke management and traumatic brain injury is essential.
The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various healthcare teams.
It consists of 24 beds dedicated to neuro surgical patients.
The average daily census is up to 24 patients, including those recovering from neurosurgical procedures.
Special procedures include managing post-operative care for craniotomy and aneurysm clipping patients.
