American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum RN with at least 1 year of specialty experience and antepartum/fetal monitoring skills for a night shift assignment.
Requirements
- Active RN license, Colorado or compact
- BLS and NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
- Travel experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, starting/maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with antepartum care including NST, EFM, and reflex/edema/clonus assessments preferred
- Experience with newborn care including cord care, thermoregulation, discharge teaching, and metabolic screening preferred
- Experience with postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care, cesarean section, and postpartum hemorrhage preferred
- Experience with pain management including epidural management and PCA use preferred
Responsibilities
- Mother-Baby, Couplet Care, and Post Partum unit with 32 beds
- Cares for postpartum patients not requiring ICU level care and high-risk patient populations
- Cares for newborns 2000g and above not requiring NICU level care, including late preterm and substance-exposed newborns
- Typical ratios are 1:3 couplets, up to 6 patients
- Uses Epic for charting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00), with rotating days of the week; option for nights only
- Weekend coverage required per unit needs
- On-call required per unit needs
- Float required to Antepartum and L&D for those trained in fetal monitoring; no float outside scope
- Manages phototherapy, magnesium drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and PCA/PCEA pumps
- Provides breastfeeding support for postpartum patients
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Provides couplet care and breastfeeding support following baby-friendly protocols
- Assists with circumcision care and education, car seat education, and newborn discharge teaching
- Manages high-risk postpartum patients including those with pregnancy-induced hypertension, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose name used during employment
- Maximum 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout dates during peak holiday and seasonal periods
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- Completion of facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
- Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local bill rate
