American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a rotating day/night shift role requiring 2+ years acute care experience and a CO or Compact RN license.
Requirements- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Oncology skills checklist required prior to consideration
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC), OCN preferred but not required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central/PICC line care
- Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, sepsis, hemorrhage, etc)
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring preferred
- Comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
- Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit with 36 staffed beds
- Rotating day and night shifts (3x12 hours), various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on day shift and 1:5 on night shift, with flexibility based on staffing needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Provide comprehensive care to oncology patients including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and psychosocial support
- Manage oncologic emergencies and monitor for treatment-related complications
- Navy scrub color required
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting time off during select weeks
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates may be considered at a different bill rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility
