OverviewPosition # – Requisition #39995. This full‑time research associate will work onsite in Aurora, CO, as part of an Artificial Intelligence team focused on ocular imaging.
Responsibilities- Review, annotate, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner.
- Adhere to research regulatory standards.
- Grade ocular imaging for image biomarkers.
- Annotate/label ocular imaging to develop AI algorithms for image biomarkers.
- Confirm and adjust AI‑detection of image biomarkers.
- Review patient charts and images to assist in annotation for training and evaluating AI models.
- Perform baseline and longitudinal ocular imaging grades for qualitative and quantitative ocular disease image biomarkers.
- Assist in analysis and writing of research manuscripts related to AI in ophthalmology.

- Clinical training in ophthalmology or optometry with a degree commensurate with clinical practice (MD/DO/OD or equivalent).
- Experience or proficiency in medical and surgical management in ophthalmology, specifically usage and grading of imaging.
- Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR/EHR and data management systems).
- Background understanding of medical AI, particularly in ophthalmology, including prior research and/or grading ophthalmic imaging.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
