Research Scientist
We are seeking a highly motivated and interdisciplinary Research Scientist with experience in molecular biology, genomics, and translational research. This role includes basic science discovery and clinical application, advanced experimental systems, and human-derived samples to drive therapeutic innovation. The ideal candidate will excel in designing and executing complex experiments, managing research programs, and collaborating across clinical and scientific teams to translate insights into impactful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and optimize cell-based and molecular biology assays including qPCR, ELISA, high-content imaging, and next-generation sequencing (NGS).
- Develop and utilize 2D/3D cell culture systems, including patient-derived organoids, to model disease biology and evaluate therapeutic candidates.
- Perform functional characterization of genetic modifications, including CRISPR-Cas9–based gene editing workflows.
- Apply statistical and experimental design (DOE) principles to improve assay robustness, scalability, and throughput.
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary research projects, aligning timelines, resources, and deliverables across teams.
- Oversee laboratory workflows, quality control systems, and documentation practices.
- Identify risks, troubleshoot experimental variability, and implement corrective strategies.
- Contribute to budget planning, resource allocation, and operational efficiency within research programs.
- Contribute to grant writing, publications, and scientific reports.
- Mentor junior scientists and research staff, supporting technical development and career growth.
- Provide leadership in laboratory operations, promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, and scientific excellence.
- Lead cross-functional discussions, resolve project conflicts, and align teams toward shared goals
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Genetics, or related life sciences field.
- 3+ years of experience in translational or biomedical research.
Condition of Employment:
Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 to 6 years of experience in immunology, respiratory biology, neuroscience, or human genetics.
- 5 years of experience in translational or biomedical research
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong project and program management
- Regulatory and quality compliance awareness
- Data integrity and reproducibility focus
