Job Summary:

We are searching for a qualified post-doctoral fellow(s) to join our growing laboratory, whose principal investigator is a basic and translational scientist. This individual will conduct research focused on biochemical, cellular, and molecular mechanisms underlying gynecologic cancer progression and therapy resistance. The primary focus of experiments will include, but are not limited to, (1) studies of Golgi organization and mitotic spindle assembly in ovarian cancer, (2) in vitro and in vivo assays of cGAS/STING-dependent antitumor immunity, and (3) studies of tumor-adipocyte interactions and inflammation in the tumor microenvironment.

The post-doctoral fellow will be supported through an already funded grant mechanism. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate a strong work ethic, to have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, to exhibit excellent skills in scientific writing, and to display meticulous, detail-oriented technical skills and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

* Research (90%)

o Designing and performing experiments in a methodical, scientific manner using advanced biomedical research techniques

o Developing and validating new methodologies/applications

o Writing full-length, high-quality scientific publications

o Presenting research at national and international scientific meetings

o Developing grant-writing skills by applying for institutional or other small grants

* Teaching (10%)

o Teach/supervise students, professional research assistants, and other lab members

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* PhD in relevant scientific area such as Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Biophysics or Reproductive Biology

* Relevant previous post-doctoral experience (for applicants with a previous postdoctoral fellowship)

* Relevant technical skills, including experience with vascular reactivity and electrophysiology experiments and routine laboratory experiments such as performance and analysis of real-time PCR, western blotting, biochemical assays, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior understanding/knowledge of antiviral/antitumor signaling (e.g., cGAS-STING)

* Prior experience with adipocyte culture

* Prior experience with advanced cellular imaging techniques, including live-cell imaging

* Prior experience with small animal handling and in vivo tumor studies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Excellent skills in scientific writing

* Appropriate knowledge of basic statistics and facility with standard statistical programs such as Graph Pad Prism

* Ability to work independently yet collaboratively

* A strong work ethic and a commitment to being a team player in the lab and advancing knowledge in the field

* Meticulous record-keeping of experiments and laboratory operations

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Salaries commensurate with experience according to NIH Kirschstein-NRSA guidelines which are $63,480 - $77,076
