Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor student workers, graduate students, trainees, professional research assistants, or other personnel.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• A PhD, ScD, or DrPH in epidemiology, clinical epidemiology, or other related fields.

• Theoretical and practical experience in epidemiology, clinical trials, and research synthesis methods.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead research projects and collaborations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with eyes and vision research and ophthalmic epidemiology.

• Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and independence.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to design and conduct rigorous epidemiological research.

• Proficiency in statistical programing.

• A deep understanding of clinical trial and systematic review methodology.

• Excellent time and project management skills.

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to direct, motivate, and collaborate.

• Ability to teach and mentor students.

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a full time (research faculty series, not eligible for tenure) to contribute to building an ophthalmic epidemiology and meta-research program for a minimal of 1 year. The program aims to lead research on developing, evaluating, and disseminating efficient methods for comparing healthcare interventions and providing trustworthy evidence for decision-making, with applications in eyes and vision.

The candidate will help build research and teaching capacity in the Department of Ophthalmology. Relevant areas of research interest and expertise should include (1) study methodology: e.g., systematic review, meta-analysis, network meta-analysis, clinical trial, sources of bias, comparative effectiveness research, patient-centered outcomes research; and (2) data science, informatics, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing methods for health and healthcare data.

• this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

The Department of Ophthalmology is housed in the Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus. This state-of-the-art facility is one of the largest eye centers in the country and serves not only patients in the Rocky Mountain region but also patients all over the world.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $95,000 to $105,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
