Job Summary

iC42 Clinical Research & Development combines quantitative massspectrometry, metabolomics, and proteomics under one roof, a combination that makes it a unique facility and a CU Medicine site of clinical practice. As a Principal Professional, you will lead LC‑MS/MS analytics for pre‑clinical and clinical studies, including work that supports national multi‑center trials, in a laboratory that is cGLP‑compliant, CAP‑accredited, and CLIA‑certified.

Day to day, you will develop and validate HPLC and LC‑MS assays, guide study design and data analysis through manuscript preparation, and serve as a resource to principal investigators across a range of research disciplines. You will also provide informal leadership to team members, including workload guidance and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and lead LC‑MS/MS analytics for pre‑clinical and clinical academic and regulatory studies
  • Develop and validate HPLC and LC‑MS assays
  • Provide laboratory science expertise and leadership in study design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation
  • Independently review, develop, and implement new or modified laboratory techniques
  • Maintain a GLP‑compliant laboratory environment
  • Serve as a resource to principal investigators and other stakeholders
  • Provide informal leadership to team members, including mentoring and workload guidance
Work Location

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
  • Three (3) years professional level research experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
  • Four years of experience with High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), preferably with HPLC – massspectrometry
  • At least two (2) years of hands‑on experience working in a regulatory compliance‑compliant laboratory environment, ideally cGLP or cGMP.
