This position greets our customers and accepts their donations in an efficient and courteous manner. This position works outside in all weather conditions. Excellent customer service skills are a must!

Please tell us about your availability! Full-time positions are available. This position would primarily work at our Belleview Store but may be asked to work at our Smoky Hill Donation Center.

Donation hours at our Stores are Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 8:30 PM and Sunday 9 AM to 7:30 PM. Donation hours at our Donation Centers are 9 AM to 5 PM daily.

Pay: $16.65 per hour. This position is eligible for Daily Pay! Work today, get paid today! We partner with Daily Pay, a voluntary benefit that allows employees access to their pay on their own schedule. Full‑time employees in our Retail, Sales/Operations, Commercial Contracts are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Long‑Term Disability, Short‑Term Disability, Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings.

Job Summary

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers that are dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand‑alone donation centers (ADC). Donation Services Associates provide excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers promptly and helping as needed. This may include lifting or unloading donations from a customer's vehicle or other area. Associates are expected to handle goods with care, showing respect for items donated.

Functions
  • Provides excellent customer service, greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions as needed.
  • Assists every customer by unloading donations from vehicle or other areas.
  • Ensures that donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
  • Inspects all donations within assigned areas and makes decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or to be shipped to other locations.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment for both customers and fellow employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
  • Maintains remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers if applicable, following appropriate opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site.
  • Ensures supplies are kept well stocked at remote sites as necessary.
  • Tracks and reports on donation levels daily to avoid over stocking of trailers at remote donation center locations.
  • Communicates timely when the donation warehouse and/or trailer(s) are becoming full and a truck is needed.
  • Follows all retail center and donation center policies and procedures.
  • Assists drivers in loading and unloading donations onto trucks when necessary.
  • Follows all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Cross‑trains in other departments or areas; acts as a back‑up for other areas as required.
  • May be required to report to the store ADC or stand‑alone center when necessary.
  • Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications Education
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
  • One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.
Other
  • Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
  • Must have basic computer skills to log into a computer system to order supplies and to send and receive email.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
  • Must use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
