Position: (USA) Member Specialist

Position Summary

Provides member service. Maintains the checkout area and resolves member issues and concerns. Promotes Sam's Club products and services. Provides guidance and support to members regarding self-service technology. Processes member purchases and assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps.

Maintains entrance and exit areas, reviews member receipts, and ensures secure safeguarding of Sam's Club assets and property by observing potential criminal activity. Keeps paperwork, logs, and other required documentation and executes emergency response procedures, ensuring compliance with company security and safety practices.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain entrance and exit areas, acknowledge members, verify membership cards, and identify member needs.
  • Assist members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and transporting items.
  • Zone the area and arrange and organize merchandise, ensuring a safe shopping environment.
  • Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges in line with company policies.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling merchandise and report unsafe situations to facility management.
  • Assist with training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes, new technology, and tool functionality. Deliver new program rollout training and provide continuous learning opportunities.
  • Ensure area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies by properly handling returns, arranging merchandise, and identifying shrink or damages.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity. Apply Open Door Policy and execute action plans.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress and recommend improvement opportunities; adapt to and learn from change and feedback.
  • Conduct safety sweeps and follow safety procedures at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Retail experience, including operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register).
  • Experience working with mobile retail applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a member‑service or customer‑service role in a retail environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with self‑service technology.

Compensation

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 to $29.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may be paid in premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
