PLEASE NOTE THAT INTERVIEWS FOR THIS POSITION WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL AUGUST. This position serves as the afternoon and evening door monitor and is responsible for greeting all visitors and for ensuring students and employees enter the school properly. The monitor works with the evening Security staff to ensure the school’s safety procedures are being followed, report unsafe conditions and observe the entry lobby and nearby areas for unsafe situations.

The Campus Safety Monitor reports to the Director of Safety and works from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during days when school is in session. Some summer work may be required for meetings and training.

Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities)
  • Greet and guide parents, students, volunteers and visitors. Notify appropriate Security Specialist with security concerns.
  • Monitor lobby and nearby areas, including but not limited to: doors that are unlocked or propped open, visitors, suspicious activities and inappropriate student behavior.
  • Monitor security camera carousal and alert Security Specialist of any concerns or suspicious behavior
  • Report activity and any concerns with students to the Director of Safety.
  • Identify safety problem areas and bring potential solutions to the Director of Safety.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, employees and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills)
  • Adequate education, training and job experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality is essential.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate employees, students, parents and first responders.
  • Meet and maintain all certifications and training as required by school policies.
