Tower - Technician

Location note: We ask that you are located in the Denver Metro or surrounding area, since you will be commuting to our location in Aurora, CO.

This role is responsible to assist in the erection, construction, and/or maintenance of wireless towers. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with all safety and quality guidelines and expectations.

Mountain Wireless has been in business for 25 years and has a history of stability and growth.

• Perform work on tower top, ensuring a safe, quality installation, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, etc.
• Install up-top equipment including masts, clamping, bracing, supports, antennas, RRUs, cabling, bolting; assist in azimuth alignment within tolerances; labeling, documentation; gather closeout documents.
• Under Tower Lead instruction, perform coax, fiber, lines, and hybrid cable installation; connector installation, sweep and testing assistance; weatherproofing, color-coding, labeling; connect coax feedlines and jumpers per piping diagrams; support and fasten for quality installations.
• Grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cad welding as required.
• Assist on the overall job including groundwork to build and install a site per customer specs; maintain a safe work environment; complete JSA forms; assist with crew work and equipment maintenance.
• Continue training and certifications for tower-related work.
• Familiarity with drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc. is a plus.
• Assist in the installation of all tower-related aspects of a wireless cell site; ensure safety and quality control requirements are upheld.
• Assist in the assembly of monopole, self-support, guyed towers, and rooftops; assist in transmission line installation.
• Responsible for tool inventory and upkeep on the job site.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to climb and perform work at various heights and locations.
• Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs (including body weight, equipment, tools and boxes).
• Must be able to pull one’s body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening including background and drug testing.
• May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
• Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather.
• Valid driver’s license is a plus.

No experience required. We will train the right person!

• Successful completion of safety in rigging coursework required
• Ability to operate aerial lifts, man lifts and aerial platform equipment is a plus
• Successful completion of industrial first aid and rescue training and possess a competent climber card
• Ability to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and be a valued member of the crew and the company
• Must be able to pass a background and drug test

• Communicate in person, by phone and radio with supervisor, foreman and co-workers
• Must work in a team environment, participating in tailboards throughout the day
• Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
• Must be able to work with a team, and independently as required
• Have tool knowledge

This is a full-time position.

$22-25 DOE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school education preferred
