What to Expect
The Solar Maintenance Technician is an essential part of Tesla's Field Energy Operations team. Employees in this role help drive Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. As a Solar Maintenance Technician, you will work with the latest solar technology, collaborate with team members, and complete installations safely and on time. Tesla seeks candidates with a passion for learning basic energy system construction, terminology, and concepts.
This is an hourly role that requires working outdoors in extreme environments, at heights, and performing prolonged repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Supporting the Crew Lead and Electrician in the servicing and maintenance of Tesla's solar products
- Attending weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products, best service practices, and standard workmanship guidelines
- Following building standards and codes when installing and servicing panels and support structures
- Assisting with routine maintenance on energy systems
- Managing time and tasks effectively with a sense of urgency
- Providing an exceptional customer experience to all customers
- Experience in roof work, general construction or carpentry preferred
- Ability to safely handle power tools, hand tools, and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent attendance is essential for the team to achieve success
- Travel is mandatory and will vary based on business needs. You may travel up to 2 weeks at a time several times a year to various locations within the US
- Must be able to work at great heights, in extreme environments, perform prolonged repetitious duties, and lift at least 50 pounds frequently
- Valid driver’s license required

- Installer I - $18.29 - $27.43/hour
- Installer II - $20.52 - $30.78/hour
- Installer III - $22.64 - $33.97/hour
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer of employment is extended.
