Job SummaryProvide maintenance, repair, and operations services for all University of Colorado buildings at Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) on a 24‑hour basis. Responsibilities include ensuring utility and facility support for the research and learning environment in alignment with the University’s mission of health care, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities- Attend plumbing trade school and maintain adequate attendance with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Learn to design and install plumbing and mechanical systems; perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, infrastructure, HVAC, pump repairs, water treatment for closed loops, utility locates, and backflow prevention.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure proper installation and operation of facility systems.
- Maintain a 2‑year service commitment in Facilities Management in the specific trade after completing the journeyman certificate.
- Adhere to DORA, Division of Professions and Occupations, and Construction Industry Training Council registration requirements.
- Follow all safety, health, and work‑condition requirements (e.g., clearance of hazardous chemicals, ability to operate moving equipment, ability to work outdoors in all weather, required physical capacities).

Required
- Two years of experience in building maintenance, repair, and operations services, construction, grounds, or other mechanical field.
- Substitution:
Appropriate education may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis. - Must be a Colorado resident, possess a current valid State license, and be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, and motor vehicle checks.
- Must be willing to attend plumbing trade school, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and complete the 144‑hour classroom training required by the Construction Industry Training Council.
- Must be willing to commit to a 2‑year service obligation after earning the journeyman certificate.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull, use manual dexterity, and work in various weather and hazardous conditions as described in full conditions of employment.

Salary and IncentivesPay Range: $4,238 – $4,916 per month.
Possible one‑time non‑base building sign‑on bonus up to $2,000.
