Position Summary and Overview
What you'll do:
As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at our local retail store, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairs.
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using a variety of craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, food equipment) and hand and power tools.
- Utilize the work‑order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders, support Store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
- Comfortable working at heights frequently
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Able to work in various temperatures
- Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
- Vocational or Technical certification with 1 year of experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
- Vocational or Technical certification with 3 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade, or 5 years of experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program
- License in related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Hourly wage range: $21.00 – $39.00. Additional premiums of $0.35 – $3.00 per hour may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
