Position: General Maintenance (TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance Required)

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, this position performs technical and general maintenance work on facilities and building equipment, structures, systems, and hardware.

  • Complete all work tasks and preventive maintenance (PM) plans safely and timely.
  • Participate in daily morning meetings with the entire team to discuss the work to be performed and a safety topic for that day.
  • Practice safe work habits in everything performed.
  • Participate in weekly hands‑on training sessions on various tasks and equipment every Thursday.
  • Ensure Service Training Actions (STA) are completed daily before each shift and signed the following day before the next shift begins.
  • Ensure all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents have been read and signed for all tasks performed.
  • Assist service contractors including Otis Elevators, Urban Armor, Tremco, RTS, Cintas, and Unifirst as needed.
  • Complete timecards daily at the end of each shift.
  • Provide weekly updates to the General Maintenance Supervisor on all tasks/projects.
  • Act as a member of a 16‑person snow‑removal team utilizing trucks, loaders, plows, brooms, Bobcats, and rock‑salt spreaders.
  • Participate in training for personnel on various pieces of snow‑removal equipment including John Deere, Bobcats, front‑end loaders, trucks, plows, brooms, and spreaders.
  • Participate in the Fire Extinguisher and Emergency Eyewash station program, which accounts for more than 600 fire extinguishers and 38 eyewash stations site‑wide.
  • Maintain PM books for all indoor maintenance PMs, including secure doors, raised‑floor inspections, turnstiles, shop equipment, and building inspections.
  • Perform furniture reconfigurations using five different types of modular furniture and more than a thousand parts.
  • Basic carpentry skills (drywall, painting, carpet).
  • Ensure personnel have the proper tools, equipment, and PPE for all tasks.
  • Participate in training sessions on advanced skills such as framing walls, installing drywall, finishing, painting, installing carpet, installing ceiling, raised floors, doors, concrete finishing, and woodworking to assist general maintenance personnel in skill development.
  • Complete all HRMS, Fluor, and High‑side mandatory computer‑based training annually.
  • Maintain CPR/AED certification.
  • Basic landscaping: mowing, trimming, watering; trash and weed control; use of basic landscaping tools.
  • Perform tasks using hand tools, power tools, wall patching, painting, floor tiles, ceiling tiles, hanging pictures, building shelving; and landscaping mowing/trimming.
  • Work with the Archibus team to ensure all assets are accounted for, accurately identified, and recorded.
  • Complete any other task assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years; some locations may require additional qualifications to comply with local regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job‑related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner.
  • Basic computer knowledge: ability to use email, Internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for effective company business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (or appropriate General Certificate of Secondary Education).
  • Minimum three (3) years of trade school education or equivalent.
  • License(s) and certification(s) as required.
  • Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret building layouts, system drawings, and manufacturers’ equipment specifications.
  • Knowledge of standard and specialized maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to clients and other employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
