Hiring Pump Mechanics - Aurora, CO

The Pump Mechanic plays a key role in inspecting, repairing, rebuilding, and testing industrial pumps and rotating equipment in a high-quality, safety-focused service center. This position serves as a technical expert on complex mechanical repairs, including precision balancing, detailed inspections, and full equipment rebuilds. Work is performed to strict OEM standards, with an emphasis on accuracy, craftsmanship, and safety—not speed.

Shift: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. (flexible)

Typical workweek: 40–50 hours, with overtime available (sometimes required, usually voluntary)

Job Description:
  • Inspect Equipment — Evaluate pumps and rotating equipment for wear, damage, and repair needs.
  • Disassemble Components — Safely tear down pumps using proper hand and power tools.
  • Prepare Parts — Clean, deburr, and sandblast components for repair or reassembly.
  • Perform Precision Measurements — Use micrometers and other instruments to verify tolerances.
  • Balance Rotors & Impellers — Conduct precision balancing to meet OEM and customer specifications.
  • Reassemble Pumps — Build pumps and rotating equipment using blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues — Diagnose problems with pumps, compressors, and pump motors.
  • Rebuild Pump Assemblies — Complete full repairs and machine builds as required.
  • Interpret Schematics — Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions accurately.
  • Operate Shop Equipment — Use forklifts, overhead cranes, and high-torque tools safely.
  • Document Work — Complete work orders with detailed notes, parts lists, and test results.
  • Support the Team — Assist coworkers with repairs and general shop tasks.
  • Maintain Shop Standards — Keep work areas clean, organized, and aligned with safety expectations.
  • Participate in Testing — Verify proper operation of repaired equipment.
  • Uphold Quality — Ensure all work meets internal, customer, and OEM requirements.
Skills/

Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Aptitude with experience in complex mechanical systems
  • Hand Tool Proficiency and safe use of power tools
  • Blueprint & Schematic Reading
  • Precision Measurement using micrometers and similar tools
  • Troubleshooting Skills for mechanical and basic diagnostic issues
  • Mechanical Assembly and machine build capability
  • Comfortable working in a production or service center environment
  • Forklift Operation experience
  • Overhead Crane Operation

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
