Are you a proactive, solutions‑oriented individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment? Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a self‑motivated Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated Facilities Division. In this hands‑on role, you’ll help ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of our buildings—including offices, fitness centers, and landscaped areas—by performing general maintenance and repair tasks such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and more.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, dependable, and committed to maintaining clean, welcoming spaces that support the health and productivity of our staff and clients. You’ll also assist with office moves, minor remodels, and landscaping, all while promoting safety, efficiency, and a positive team environment—one room at a time.
This position is fully onsite/in‑person. The schedule is Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm.
SalaryStarting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi‑weekly. $20.04 – $30.05 per hour.
Essential Functions- Perform general maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, millwork, and painting as needed.
- Maintain outside appearance of assigned facilities, including minor landscaping tasks, shoveling snow, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance on a regular basis.
- Move furniture in offices and residential facilities, as needed.
- Advise the supervisor on the condition of buildings and facilities by conducting regular inspections and reporting needed repairs.
- Perform daily duties as needed in support of the departmental mission.
- Troubleshoot and repair all defective equipment, including dismantling machines and installing new or repaired parts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Upkeep all maintenance records, receipts, and inventory of spare parts.
- Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and clean equipment and repaired items in the area upon completion of repairs, storage, cleanliness, and care of tools, fixtures and attachments used.
- Complete a variety of work orders for various facilities, as scheduled.
- Promote a safety‑oriented culture.
- High School Diploma/GED preferred, or a minimum of two years of related experience.
- Two years of experience in maintenance, including knowledge of procedures, equipment, and supplies.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and must pass an MVR check.
- Preferred: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing certificates.
- Excellent detailed organizational skills.
- Capable of completing a variety of tasks in an efficient manner.
- Self‑starter who takes initiative in starting and completing tasks.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Preferred:
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; must maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to clients, staff, and projects. - Ability to work productively with a minimum of supervision.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication skills, and positive attitude.
- Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential functions.
- Minor plumbing, HVAC, electrical, wood working, painting, framing, sheetrock, tape and texture knowledge.
- Ability to drive in inclement weather, including snow, rain, ice, wind.
All employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on the first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.
