Position TitleFacilities Operations Technician
DescriptionWe are seeking a self‑motivated, hands‑on Facilities Operations Technician to maintain and repair City commercial facilities. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance inspections, minor and major repairs, and assisting with construction tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and roof repair. The role involves a rotating on‑call schedule to provide 24/7 coverage.
Salary$22.06 – $27.57 hourly, based on experience.
Preferred Location RequirementCandidates must reside in Colorado at the time of hire.
Responsibilities- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of assigned buildings and facilities.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and minor and major repairs.
- Monitor and provide quality control on services of outside contractors.
- Carry out semi‑skilled maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, flooring, painting, drywall, and ceiling tile replacement.
- Operate and use a variety of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Maintain records such as equipment, time, materials, and parts inventory.
- Assist in training other employees.
- Serve as lead worker when required.
- Participate in emergency on‑call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
- Resolve user service complaints and interface with contractors.
- Resolve problems that arise during the workday.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of commercial building and facilities construction/maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of basic building systems and maintenance tools.
- Skill in operating equipment and tools, computers, and tablets.
- Ability to work at or above 30 feet on ladders or aerial devices.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and relationship‑building skills.
- Good driving record and valid Colorado driver’s license.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must not fail a mandatory background check.
- Must pass a drug test if hired for a safety‑sensitive position.
- Must provide Veterans’ DD214 for Veterans preference.
