Do you get a kick out of turning an "uh-oh" into an "ah-ha!"? We are looking for a Facilities Operations Technician. This role is for someone who loves getting their hands dirty and making things work.
You will be our buildings' best friend, the person ensuring everything hums along just right. Expect to perform preventive maintenance inspections, conduct minor repairs, and assist with various construction tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system fixes. You are essentially the heartbeat of our commercial facilities, keeping them in top shape for everyone.
We understand that life happens. This position participates in a rotating on-call schedule with other trade specialists. This setup allows for a much more fulfilled work-life balance, ensuring that no single person carries the full after-hours load.

Salary to be commensurate with experience.
The hiring range for this position is $22.06 - $27.57/Hourly.
Candidates must reside in Colorado at the time of hire.
OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT The Facilities Operations Technician performs a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled facilities construction and maintenance work involving operation of City owned and leased commercial buildings and facilities.
PRIMARY
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts preventive maintenance inspections of buildings and facilities assigned by area within the City boundaries
Performs preventative maintenance tasks
Monitors and provides quality control and services of outside contractors
Performs minor and major repairs
Performs semi-skilled maintenance tasks including minor plumbing repair, lighting repair, HVAC tasks, roof repair, flooring repair, interior and exterior painting, drywall repairs, ceiling tiles replacement and door hardware repairs
Operates and uses a variety of tools and equipment related to the maintenance function
Maintains various records such as equipment, time, material, and parts inventory
May assist in training other employees
May act as a lead worker
Emergency on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis
Resolves user service complaints and interfaces with contractors
Resolves problems arising during the workday
Performs additional duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
At least 2 years of commercial building and facilities construction/maintenance experience
Computerized work order management system knowledge (preferred)
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Licenses and
Certifications:
Colorado Driver's License with a good driving record
Knowledge:
Knowledge of basic operation of building systems
Knowledge of basic tools used for building maintenance
Skills:
Skill in operation of equipment and tools of assigned function
Skill in operation of computers and tablets
Abilities:
Ability to work at or above 30 feet on ladders and or aerial devices
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, vendors, and citizens
Handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
