The EPG Field Service Class B Technician works with limited supervision to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair,maintain, test, and commission Caterpillar Electric Power Generation equipment at customer locations. This position supports customer power generation needs through preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, load bank testing, equipment startups, and electrical/mechanical diagnostics while delivering exceptional customer service.

Pay Rate: $32.00-$52.60 per hour. Pay Rate is based upon experience and education.

Essential Functions

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar diesel and natural gas generator sets, including engine, fuel, cooling, lubrication, air intake, exhaust, starting, charging, and aftertreatment systems.
• Troubleshoot alternators, excitation systems, voltage regulators, circuit breakers, batteries, battery chargers, jacket-water heaters, control wiring, sensors, and protective devices.
• Diagnose Caterpillar generator controls and related components, including EMCP and GCCP control panels, remote annunciation, communications, and customer interface signals, within assigned training and authorization.
