Position:
Specialized Populations Officer (Juvenile);
Agency 5;
Supreme Court; located in Fremont and Blair, NE. This role requires intensive case management for high‑risk youth, including screening, investigations, intakes for law enforcement, group facilitation, service matching, court condition monitoring, and transition planning. The position is in‑office only and requires regular travel between the two locations.

• Investigate, monitor, and supervise targeted, high‑risk individuals under probation, post‑release supervision, or involvement in Problem‑Solving Court for adult and juvenile offenders.
• Perform counseling and case management, case reporting, and related functions under close supervision.
• Develop a team supervision approach with referral sources such as probation officers, navigation officers, Problem‑Solving Court teams, jail staff, and prison caseworkers.
• Participate in treatment processes of individuals, maintain regular communication with treatment providers, attend treatment groups and facilities, and assist in relapse prevention plan development.
• Facilitate groups on topics including supervision, cognitive programs, skill building, life skills enhancement, and general education of clients.
• Prepare violation reports and compliance reports; conduct record checks; enter and update client information; determine reports to send to court for updates.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in social services, criminal justice, or directly related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in case management in related fields; preferred experience working with youth or families via tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, or similar. Experience with probation, DHHS, NDCS, or related systems, and skills in interviewing, investigation, or case management are desirable.
• Knowledge: Customer service principles; criminal justice system, laws, legal codes, court procedures; interview & assessment procedures; intervention policies; cognitive skill building; motivational learning; social learning theory; crisis intervention techniques; modern office procedures, recordkeeping, document review, computers & software applications.
• Skills: Home visits; interviewing probationers; tracking probationer location; utilizing probation and protective techniques; preparing activity reports; updating databases; operating computers; interpersonal communication with coworkers, supervisors, general public.
• Physical Requirements: Light work – up to 20 pounds force occasionally or 10 pounds frequently.

Starting salary $60,313.77 annually. Immediate 2.5% pay increase after successful probation. Annual cost‑of‑living adjustments subject to state approval.
