Labor & Employment Specialist II (PROWD)
The Labor & Employment Specialist II (PROWD) position with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment provides reentry services to individuals in Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities and Residential Reentry Centers. The role assesses offender reentry needs, develops transitional plans, coordinates community resources, and facilitates linkages with federal parole officers, local workforce areas, and service organizations. This grant‑funded position is located in Fremont County near Canon City and offers hybrid workplace flexibility.
KeyQualifications
- Five years of relevant experience working with incarcerated or formerly incarcerated persons in probation, parole, correctional facilities, or career development
- Demonstrated success in working with Adults in Custody to facilitate community reentry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals from various education levels
- Ability to coordinate with multiple organizations and participate on multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of career development assessments and employment‑related tools
- Ability to travel throughout assigned region and pass Federal Bureau of Prisons background check
