Make a lasting difference in the lives of students in the greater Denver area through this rewarding, full-year contract role as a school social worker. You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and community agencies to address barriers to learning and help students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering mental health counseling and support to students from early childhood through high school
  • Assessing students to identify needs in academic, social, and emotional functioning
  • Creating and implementing treatment plans, workshops, and strategies to promote student achievement
  • Supporting students facing attendance issues, behavioral challenges, or emotional distress
  • Referring students to external agencies for economic, emotional, or physical assistance when needed
  • Communicating regularly with parents, teachers, and school administrators for comprehensive student support
  • Keeping thorough case files, tracking progress and maintaining organized reports to identify patterns across individual and group cases
  • Upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ recent experience working as a social worker in a school setting
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • Active Colorado Special Service Provider license for School Social Worker (serving ages birth-21)
  • Proven knowledge of mental health interventions and support strategies for children and adolescents
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to serve in varied assignments across grade levels and schools, as caseloads are determined by need
  • Ability to complete all district credentialing, including background check and fingerprinting, prior to start

This position offers a full-time schedule (35 hours/week, Monday-Friday) for the entire academic year, starting July 31, 2026 and ending May 26, 2027. If you’re dedicated to seeing students succeed and want to make a meaningful impact, this opportunity is right for you.
