This position is responsible for implementing and operating a self-sufficiency program at AHA for families receiving rental subsidies. The Self‑Sufficiency Case Manager will carry a caseload of 25‑30 families, working with them to identify goals, increase earned income, build assets and achieve long‑term self‑sufficiency. Beyond direct caseload management, this position serves as a strategic liaison to build and maintain community partnerships that deliver site‑based opportunities across all family properties.

Key initiatives focus on advancing family financial wellness, establishing actionable pathways to home ownership, and building resident leadership. Additionally, the Opportunity and Self‑Sufficiency Case Manager will facilitate and support active Resident Councils at two designated properties, ensuring resident voices guide community programming and property‑level engagement.

• Manage a dedicated caseload of 25‑30 families receiving rental subsidies, delivering high‑touch, individualized support focused on goal setting, income progression, and long‑term self‑sufficiency.
• Maintain a complete, accurate understanding of program eligibility guidelines, conducting thorough screenings during outreach and recruitment across AHA family properties to ensure participants meet all eligibility criteria and maintain a full, active caseload of 25–30 households.
• Meet with participants in person, frequently conducting home visits, meeting at on‑site AHA property offices, or connecting at accessible community locations to remove participation barriers.
• Partner with participating families to apply creative, strengths‑based problem‑solving strategies as barriers arise, helping them adjust action steps and stay on track toward their self‑sufficiency goals.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to empower families to move toward self‑identified goals.
• Implement internal program policies, participant expectations and milestone tracking from intake through graduation.
