In this role, the candidate will focus on developing, maintaining, and optimizing software solutions that enable mission critical systems and applications. Responsibilities include creating high quality software to enhance system performance and scalability, implementing automation to streamline workflows and processes, and developing tools to support data integrity and secure software operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of system level software architecture, how software components interact within complex systems, and how to translate customer needs into actionable development tasks.
A solid grasp of the software development lifecycle and best practices is critical, including version control, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). The Software Engineer will work within an Agile team supporting multiple software products, prioritizing enhancements and bug fixes, and managing tasks efficiently to ensure smooth delivery of quality software.
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer to perform as an Infrastructure/Environment Lead in supporting the Advanced Capabilities Business Unit (BU). This position would be based in Aurora, CO.
About our organizationAs an engineer, you'll be joining our growing Aurora Software department which has 200+ Software Engineer, Dev Ops Engineer, Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and Network Engineer peers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. Staff Software Engineers frequently get into informal (example: Subject Matter Expert) and formal technical leadership roles within their programs, as applicable and per interest.
We have plenty of opportunity for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions. Our Software Department is part of a larger organization that includes Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test staff as well as a Hardware Engineering unit. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of relative experience;
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0+ years of relative experience. An additional 4 years of relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree. - Active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required at time of application.
- Experience with designing, testing, implementing, and developing in Java.
