Position Overview
This position is for a Staff Software Engineer
. You will be working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations. The position will primarily support the operations for a software system.

Responsibilities- Design and implement a scheduling engine capable of managing a growing constellation of N satellites, ensuring high performance and sub‑second latency.
- Architect a fully decoupled, cloud‑native microservices system using Java and Python to manage massive data throughput and real‑time telemetry.
- Engineer systems that enable autonomous vehicle re‑tasking while strictly adhering to mission objectives and vehicle health/safety constraints.
- Develop and optimize complex scheduling algorithms (e.g., Heuristics, Genetic Algorithms, or MILP) to resolve deconfliction and maximize link availability.
- Utilize AWS services (Lambda, EKS, Step Functions, Dynamo
DB) to build a resilient, distributed ground system that supports global mission needs.
- Ability to submit for within 1 month of start date, obtain, and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience working in software development or systems engineering.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Java (or similar OO languages) to support high‑throughput, mission‑critical backend services.
- Proficiency in Python for rapid prototyping, algorithmic modeling, and AI/ML pipeline integration.
- Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining modern microservices in production cloud environments.
- Deep expertise with AWS (compute, storage, and serverless workflows) to drive system scalability and reliability.
- Strong background in scheduling, optimization, or graph theory, with the ability to navigate trade‑offs between various algorithmic approaches.
- Extensive experience in the design, development, and maintenance of secure, scalable applications using Java and modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Quarkus).
- Proven ability to work across cross‑functional teams, including product managers and architects, to define and ship complex features.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment.
- Commitment to writing clean, efficient, well‑documented, and testable code with a robust focus on unit and integration testing.
- Experience operating within an Agile/Scrum environment, actively participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- Current IAT Level II or III certification (i.e., Security+, CISSP, or CASP).
