Position Overview
Principal Embedded Real-Time Software Developer/Integrator at Raytheon (RTX) in Aurora, CO.
Responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and deploying embedded real‑time software for autonomous avionics systems. Works within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment using Lean/Agile practices, collaborating with Product Owners, Engineers, and other team members to deliver reliable, high‑performance systems.
Responsibilities- Architect and design embedded software for heterogeneous systems comprising firmware and hardware.
- Implement, test, debug, and deploy software across FPGA and hardware platforms.
- Define, refine, and improve product concepts, implementation strategies, testability, and measurable quality.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Contribute to proposals, preliminary and critical design reviews, and program access documentation.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in embedded software development.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Experience with Embedded C++ Software, Embedded Software Security, or Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
- Proficiency with embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.
- Experience integrating hardware, firmware, and software into complex systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance (current active clearance required).
- Familiarity with rate‑monotonic theory, layered architectural principles, electrical schematics, VHDL/Verilog, and assembly language for at least one processor family.
- Experience with device drivers for bare‑metal or OS applications.
- Experience with lab instruments (power‑supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Leadership experience in engineering teams delivering integrated hardware/software systems.
Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
