Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test and debug integrated embedded real‑time software within heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
• Work within a cross‑discipline team to define, refine and improve product concept, implementation, testability and guaranteed, measurable quality.
• Teach, coach and mentor less experienced staff.
• Contribute to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.
• Obtain program access as required.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with at least two of the following:
  Embedded C++, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
• Familiarity with embedded Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks or Linux.
• Experience in developing complex systems that integrate hardware, firmware and software.
• Active and transferable Secret‑level U.S. government issued security clearance.
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of rate‑monotonic theory, layered architectural principles, reading electrical schematics, firmware source (VHDL/Verilog), assembly language, lab instruments (power‑supply, DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer), device drivers, and leading engineering teams.

• Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
