Job Summary
Senior Embedded Software Engineer – RTX (Raytheon Technologies) – Aurora, Colorado (Onsite)
Security ClearanceActive Secret‑level U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to the first day of employment, with the ability to obtain program access after start.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy embedded real‑time software for autonomous avionics systems.
- Work with product owners, chief engineers, and cross‑discipline teams using lean and/or agile practices to ensure high reliability and mission assurance.
- Contribute to proposals and participate in preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and system teams to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, and testability.
- Ensure software meets functional reliability, safety, and programmatic requirements.
Gain experience across a product line, collaborating with various teams, and applying integrated solutions to meet future autonomous mission needs.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum5years of relevant experience in embedded software.
- Proficiency in Embedded C++ and experience with real‑time operating systems such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, or Linux.
- Experience in integrated systems involving hardware, firmware, and software.
- Background in embedded software security, architecture design, and implementation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret‑level security clearance.
- Reading electrical schematics to relate software functionality.
- Experience with firmware source (VHDL/Verilog) and assembly language for at least one processor family.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Development of device drivers for bare‑metal or OS applications.
- Competitive salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
