The AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development program is an onsite role in Aurora, CO, at 16430 E Hughes Dr, BLDG S76. The team, working with our customers and users, will focus on developing and fielding operationally relevant system capabilities in the most effective and efficient manner. This role is contingent on contract award and customer funding.

Travel to customer CONUS & OCONUS sites may be required, but no more than 25% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a software engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality applications.
  • Architect scalable solutions and ensure alignment with modern engineering best practices.
  • Drive code quality through reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and secure development workflows.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce security standards across the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, QA, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable and performant software.
  • Mentor engineers, support technical decision‑making, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Qualifications – Core
  • Experience leading Agile software development teams.
  • Proficiency in facilitating Agile ceremonies, maintaining team cadence, and supporting predictable delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Agile metrics and the ability to use them to drive team improvement.
  • Ability to identify and remove impediments that block team progress.
  • Demonstrated success ensuring alignment with project and product objectives.
  • Experience supporting both sustainment work and new feature development within Agile teams.
  • Typical requirement of a STEM degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 8 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI – Current security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Experience serving as Scrum Master across multiple teams or products.
  • Knowledge of scaling frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum@Scale.
  • Ability to coach teams in maturing Agile practices and improving flow.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications (CSM, PSM, SA, SPC, or equivalent).
