Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking an experienced Systems Integrator – Level 3 or 4 in the Intelligence Systems Division Engineering organization to support a program out of our Aurora, CO location. The role supports satellite ground‑software system verification, integration, and testing for mission‑critical technologies in cutting‑edge space systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for ground software systems, including mission management, command and control, and space vehicle operations.
  • Develop and execute integration and test plans, including test cases, procedures, and documentation to ensure system functionality and compliance with requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and run automated test scripts for verification testing using Python and automation frameworks (BDD/Robot).
  • Analyze complex integration failures – perform log analysis, use debugging tools, trace root cause, and identify patterns across seemingly unrelated issues.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and other team members to clearly document issues, coordinate resolutions, and achieve full system integration.
  • Utilize testing tools, scripting, and automation strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness during the integration process.
  • Provide detailed documentation of processes, results, and recommendations for optimization.
Basic Qualifications – Principal Systems Integrator
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
  • Proven experience with satellite ground‑software system verification, specifically related to Command and Control (C2) and Mission Management (MM).
  • Strong background in integration and test efforts, including planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Expertise in testing tools, automation, and Python programming.
  • System‑architecture understanding – ability to comprehend how various components interact and identify potential integration points.
  • Scripting and automation expertise – proficiency in creating and maintaining automated test scripts used for verification testing.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills – ability to clearly document issues and coordinate with developers across different teams to resolve interaction problems.
  • Diagnostics reasoning – capability to analyze complex integration failures, diagnose software deficiencies through log analysis and debugging tools, trace root cause, and identify patterns across seemingly unrelated issues.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a CI Poly required at time of application.
Basic Qualifications – Sr. Principal Systems Integrator
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years of relevant experience with a Master’s; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
  • Proven experience with satellite ground‑software system verification, specifically related to Command and Control (C2) and Mission Management (MM).
  • Strong background in integration and test efforts, including planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Expertise in testing tools, automation, and Python programming.
  • System‑architecture understanding – ability to comprehend how various components interact and identify potential integration points.
  • Scripting and automation expertise – proficiency in creating and maintaining automated test scripts used for verification testing.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills – ability to clearly document issues and coordinate with developers across different teams to resolve interaction problems.
