Position: Principal Real-time Software Engineer

Principal Embedded Real‑Time Software Developer/Integrator

Location:

Aurora, CO (Onsite). Security clearance:
Active Secret clearance required at start.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, implement, test, debug integrated embedded real‑time software within heterogeneous systems comprising firmware and hardware.
  • Work with cross‑discipline teams to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and measurable quality.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor less‑experienced staff.
  • Contribute to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • Obtain and maintain program access.
What You Will Learn

Work across a product line in collaboration with other teams, gaining exposure to advanced embedded real‑time systems, firmware integration, and hardware‑software interaction.

Qualifications
  • Degree in STEM and minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with at least two of:
    Embedded C++, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design & Implementation.
  • Experience using embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.
  • Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Active and transferable Secret security clearance required prior to start; ability to obtain program access after start.
  • Familiarity with real‑time scheduling theory (e.g., rate‑monotonic), layered architectural principles, and their limitations.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and relate them to software function.
  • Experience reading firmware source such as VHDL or Verilog and assembly language for at least one processor/controller family.
  • Experience with lab instruments (power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and development of device drivers for bare‑metal or OS applications.
  • Leadership experience delivering integrated hardware‑software systems of various sizes.
