Senior Embedded Software Engineer position at RTX (Raytheon Technologies) located in Aurora, Colorado. Position type:
Onsite.
Responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and deploying embedded software for firmware (FPGA) and hardware solutions in autonomous avionics systems. Work within Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and cross‑disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, design, implement, test, debug integrated embedded real‑time software within heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and measurable quality.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Contribute to proposals and preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Obtain program access and comply with security protocols.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least two of:
Embedded C++ Software, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design and Implementation. - Experience using embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.
- Experience developing complex systems integrating hardware, firmware, and software.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and related software functions.
- Familiarity with firmware source such as VHDL or Verilog.
- Assembly language experience for at least one processor/controller family.
- Experience with lab instruments (power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Experience developing device drivers for bare‑metal or OS applications.
Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
