Position: Sr. Prin. Software Lead(Contingent)

Job Overview

Location:

Aurora, CO

Position type:
Onsite (employment contingent on contract award and customer funding). U.S. citizens required; active TS/SCI – Current security clearance required prior to start date. Travel to customer CONUS & OCONUS sites as required, but no more than 25%.

Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a software engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality applications.
  • Architect scalable solutions and ensure alignment with modern engineering best practices.
  • Drive code quality through reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and secure development workflows.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce security standards across the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, QA, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable and performant software.
  • Mentor engineers, support technical decision‑making, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience leading Agile software development teams.
  • Proficiency in facilitating Agile ceremonies, maintaining team cadence, and supporting predictable delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Agile metrics and the ability to use them to drive team improvement.
  • Ability to identify and remove impediments that block team progress.
  • Demonstrated success ensuring alignment with project and product objectives.
  • Experience supporting both sustainment work and new feature development within Agile teams.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 8 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI – Current clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Experience serving as Scrum Master across multiple teams or products.
  • Knowledge of scaling frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum@Scale.
  • Ability to coach teams in maturing Agile practices and improving flow.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications (CSM, PSM, SA, SPC, or equivalent).
