Sr. Prototyping Architect, PACE, AWS Prototyping and Cloud Engineering

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for Solutions Architects with strong software engineering skills and a passion for architecting and developing solutions to show customers the art of the possible. You will be part of an agile team of innovative practitioners obsessed with understanding the needs of our customers and partnering with them to experiment with new ideas that can open new markets or radically change how they deliver existing products and services.

In this role you will use your software development skills to develop prototypes using Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, IoT and Serverless Architectures, applying software engineering best practices that ensure the prototypes provide a foundation to production solutions. You will have creative freedom in a culture that embraces high judgement failure and encourages fast movement while allowing research time to experiment with new ideas.

• Architect, develop, test and implement loosely coupled distributed software solutions.
• Research and employ up-to-date technological developments in customer engagements.
• Drive the AWS platform by aligning customer requirements with AWS service teams’ roadmaps.
• Focus on customers using AWS for research, development, and innovation.
• Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white‑papers, tutorials, blogs, etc.
• Position requires travel, generally, between 0–25%.

• 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.

• 7+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, and storage architectures.
