The Fremont Sanitation District (FSD) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Tech I in the Collections Department. The Field Tech I-Collections is an entry-level position within the Field Tech – Collections series. This position will work under the general supervision of the Field Superintendent to perform maintenance and routine cleaning operations on the wastewater collection system.
These tasks are performed daily using a Vac-Con combination sewer cleaner truck, jetter truck, and other various support trucks and equipment. This position will regularly work 10-hour days Monday through Thursday with rotating on-call duty between shifts and on weekends and holidays. May also be required to work during emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- One year of relevant experience
- Current valid Colorado Class “B” Commercial Driver License (CDL) or obtain within six (6) months of employment
- Class I Wastewater Collection Certification from the CCWP within one (1) year of hire
- Trench Safety Certification or obtain within (3) months of hire
- Certification for Confined Spaces must be obtained within (3) months of hire

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in construction or maintenance.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Current valid Colorado Class “B” CDL or obtain within (6) months of hire.
- Class I Wastewater Collection Certification from the CCWP within (1) year of hire.
- Trench Safety Certification or obtain within (3) months of hire.
- Certification for Confined Spaces or obtain within (3) months of hire.
Employment Requirements:
- Upon offer of employment, will be subject to a pre-employment background check, including employment references, criminal history, and driving record review.
- CDL Required positions shall be subject to a pre-employment drug and alcohol testing program that fulfills the requirements of Code of Federal Regulations Title 49, Part 382 for Commercial Driver’s License holders upon offer of employment.
- Employee will be required to successfully pass (100%) a safety-related test conducted by the District within (3) months of employment.
- Employee will be required to successfully pass (100%) a construction certification test within (30) days of hire.
- All employees of the District will be required to follow all rules and guidelines as outlined in the District’s Personnel Manual and Safety Manual and programs.
- This is a safety-sensitive position which will be subject to the District’s random drug/alcohol testing policy.
