Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and maintain vehicle placement within assigned zones according to established standards.
- Utilize dashboards and supervisor guidance to make staging and move decisions.
- Ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles to proper destinations, minimizing multiple drop‑off points.
- Communicate inventory status and prioritize contingencies based on business needs.
- Communicate schedules and assignments to team members; serve as zone owner for our inspection zone.
- Coordinate check‑in operations, including directing drivers and employees to designated locations.
- Champion safety by following all health and safety procedures and modeling compliance.
- Collaborate with management to monitor staffing levels, review performance metrics, and implement improvement strategies.
- Perform basic FIT tunnel maintenance, including keeping the area clean and organized, reporting equipment issues or malfunctions, and assisting with routine upkeep to ensure operational efficiency.
- Enforce company policies and ensure respectful treatment of all employees and clients.
- Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 system using a handheld device (TC-75), including VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), stock number, dealer , make, model, year, mileage, color, and options.
- Affix barcode/stock number stickers to each vehicle upon arrival.
- Apply work order numbers and routing labels to vehicles.
- Identify and flag “no key” vehicles.
- Direct transporters to designated vehicle drop zones.
- Inspect and report transport damage as required.
- Provide proper sale identification windshield codes.
- Remove and clear all personal information from vehicles, including documents, saved contacts, and identifiable items.
- Reset or remove navigation system data (addresses, history, Bluetooth pairings, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding customer data privacy and security.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may require overtime based on business needs.
- Support manager in coordination of the lot department.
- Assist in the coordination of sale day (e.g., driving, working on the lanes, setting up lanes for sales).
- Assist customers in locating their vehicles.
- Work on the lot staging out vehicles for bulk vans to grab.
- Scanning cars; stage to a location using the TC-58.
- Find lost vehicles.
- Use TC-58 to look up vehicle information.
- Assist customers with answering any questions regarding their vehicle or paperwork.
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
- OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
- OR 5 years’ experience in a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; safe driving skills required.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge (e.g., identifying flat tires, low fuel, jump‑starting vehicles).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency for dashboards and inventory tracking.
- Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift 1–15 pounds.
Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.
Work ScheduleMonday - Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm.
