Join our dynamic team as a Class A Night Driver and take charge of delivering freight safely and efficiently during evening/night hours. This role is perfect for motivated drivers who thrive in a night environment, enjoy route driving, and are passionate about providing excellent service. As our Night Driver, you'll operate a tractor/trailer with a dry van trailer and deliver to 2-3 stops in the mountains each night.
Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards and compliance with all regulations. This is a Monday-Friday position, and driver is home after each run. This position requires ~50 hours per week.
Duties:
Safely operate commercial trucks with 10-speed manual (and automatic) transmissions across designated routes during night shifts.
Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring cargo integrity.
Drive a variety of truck types including 10 speed manual and automatic tractors, and box trucks to deliver freight efficiently.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
Route driving with precision to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, load details, and inspection reports in compliance with DOT regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route adjustments or issues that arise during the shift.
Experience:
Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid CDL A license; proficiency with manual transmissions is mandatory.
Prior delivery driver experience involving freight handling and route driving in various truck types.
Familiarity with operating forklifts.
Knowledge of safety standards related to trucking operations including load securement and vehicle inspections.
Ability to navigate using GPS or route maps efficiently during night hours while maintaining focus on safety.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and reporting any incidents or delays promptly.
