We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing and Warehouse Agent to join our team at a fast-paced plumbing company. This role is responsible for the procurement of materials, inventory control, vendor relations, and ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently to support field operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing and warehousing, preferably in the construction or plumbing industry.
PurchasingDuties
- Source and order plumbing materials, tools, and equipment based on project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure best pricing and delivery terms.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet job schedules.
- Review invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and field staff to forecast material needs.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels using inventory management systems.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all materials in the warehouse.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Prepare and stage materials for upcoming jobs and coordinate deliveries to job sites.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate's degree or relevant certifications a plus. - Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing and/or warehouse operations, preferably in the plumbing, construction, or trades industries.
- Familiarity with plumbing materials, tools, and terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.
- Primarily warehouse-based with occasional travel to suppliers or job sites.
- Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and operating warehouse equipment.
