Warehouse Lead - Aurora

Summary Description

Requires employee to lead and coordinate activities. The employee will perform any single task, or combination of tasks for any position within the department, including inventory control, auditing, delegating expeditor tasks, establishing a cross-functional team, adhering to standard work and distributing that to the team, and handling other items as assigned.

• Review production schedule and work orders for the day.
• Ensure all movable stock (PITs) are in working condition and escalated work orders for items that need repair.
• Print daily expeditor sheets and communicate to team what is to be executed for the day.
• Help facilitate continuous change while implementing new projects and tools.
• Verify scrap levels and report daily.
• Report to supervisor.
• Monitor work area to ensure Hörmann policies and procedures are followed.
• Assure quality standards are met for finished products and escape items that need QC or supervisory attention.
• Understand all tasks for each position so that thorough training can be achieved and improved upon as needed.

Education/experience:
Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of specific or transferable experience.
• Previous lead and warehouse experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to lead others.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Able to lift less than 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50 lbs using a team lift.
• Must be a problem solver and positive team member.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
• Good hand‑eye coordination.

This position involves standing, walking, and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine manipulation on both hands. The warehouse is not climate-controlled and will require the employee to dress appropriately. Additionally, the work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts, or vibration are present.

This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
